It is one of the few cookies that I like that do not contain chocolate!<\/p>\n<p>2012: I haven&#8217;t made these for awhile, but if I was to make a non-chocolate cookie, this or a ginger cookie would be my choice. Ooh, that&#8217;s what makes these so good, all brown sugar! And nuts, raisins, and spices.<\/p>\n<p>And the simple recipe title, &#8220;Drop Cookies&#8221;, makes me smile. I ranted a bit about long recipe titles in my discussion of <a title=\"250 Cookbooks: The New Pasta Cookbook\" href=\"http:\/\/cooking.pfeist.net\/?p=579\">The New Pasta Cookbook<\/a>. If I were pretentious, I would re-name these cookies &#8220;Brown Sugar and Spice Cookies with Nuts and Raisins&#8221;.<\/p>\n<h2>Drop Cookies<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>1 cup Crisco<\/li>\n<li>2\u00a0cups brown sugar<\/li>\n<li>3 eggs<\/li>\n<li>1\u00a0teaspoon vanilla<\/li>\n<li>3\u00a0cups flour<\/li>\n<li>1\u00a0teaspoon baking soda<\/li>\n<li>1\/2\u00a0teaspoon salt<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 teaspoon cloves<\/li>\n<li>1\/4\u00a0teaspoon nutmeg<\/li>\n<li>2\u00a0teaspoons cinnamon<\/li>\n<li>1 cup nuts<\/li>\n<li>1 cup raisins<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Cream Crisco, add brown sugar and then eggs and vanilla. Combine dry ingredients and slowly add to creamed mixture.
